Hello fellow art creators! I am in the midst of composing the Sanctuary Arts Winter brochure and wracking my brains for the perfect mix of old favorites and new excitement to get us all through the winter blues. Fall is still with us- sunny days and sweater weather for longer than I am used to, but at least that keeps the fuel bills from sky rocketing.
Sean Beavers has agreed to teach Representational Painting again, for which I am grateful. He is becoming so successful that it is an honor he still is willing to educate and transfer his extensive knowledge. I keep taking classes with him because he always pushes me further than I can get on my own — which is exactly what a good teacher is for.
Cate Aichele, who is expecting her second child, is on sabbatical so I am teaching Figure Sculpture again. We approach things quite differently, but I have learned a great deal from her — especially her anatomical expertise.
As a figure sculpture advocate, I hope students will feel free to come and play with me- even those who have never touched clay before. And more experienced students who want the opportunity to work extensively with models are more than welcome. I can't think of a better way to spend an evening than by endeavoring to sculpt the elusive magic of the human nude.
